LG has confirmed earlier reports that it will not unveil any succeeding flagship smartphone at the on-going Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.
V30s (plural of V30) and V30S are two different things.
Instead, the South Korean company has unveiled new versions of its V30 with the company’s ThinQ AI built-in, in two colors, namely Morrocan Blue & Platinum Gray.
According to LG, the focus of their AI platform for smartphones is on the camera and voice recognition features.
The added Vision AI, which has three new intelligent camera features including AI Cam which analyzes objects in the frame, and automatically setting the shooting mode among eight categories: portrait, food, pet, landscape, city, flower, sunrise, and sunset.
Next is the QLens which acts more like Samsung’s Bixby Vision that lets you visually search for products. In example, you see an item that you like and to know more about it or purchase it online, you can point the phone’s camera to it and it’ll look it up for you.
Lastly, the Bright Mode enhances low-light photography on the V30 by pixel binding.
LG also added its Voice AI which allows users to run apps and mess with settings through voice commands. It works with Google Assistant and while it might sound disappointing, it will be an LG-exclusive feature.
Specifications
They might look identical with the previous V30s, but it received some upgrades in terms of specs. The new V30S now has 6GB of memory and 128GB of expandable storage. There’s also a new V30S+ ThinQ variant with 256GB of storage.
