With Google expected to announce the new iteration of its Pixel smartphone series later this year, rumors and leaks are starting to pour out, and what they’re pointing out on is something that would make Pixel fans divided, especially with people who are concerned in the design.
A previous leak surfaced earlier last week points out the larger Pixel 3 variant might have the notch, and as you can see from the alleged screen protectors of both smartphones, the Pixel 3 will not have the notch and instead, will retain bezels on top on par with its bottom bezels. A reliable source from Bloomberg might have confirmed this leak, however.
While this news isn’t much of a surprise considering Google’s efforts on optimizing notch support on the latest Android P builds, Google’s decision to leave the Pixel 3 un-notched while the XL variant being ‘notched’ might seem to be a good one – giving fans the option to choose, if they want the notched and larger one, or the small one retaining the last year’s design principle.
Bloomberg claims that the Pixel 3 XL’s notch won’t be as wide as the iPhone X’s, but says it’s “taller.”
To add, both models will do have stereo speakers, and will stick again with a single rear camera setup on both models. However, both models seems to have two camera lenses on the front (see the cut-outs).
Also, Google is reportedly in talks with Foxconn for assembling the devices. There’s nothing much known about its specs as of this writing and we’ll see more as time goes by.
